There Was an Old Dragon Who Swallowed a Knight

There Was an Old Dragon Who Swallowed a Knight
Words by Penny Parker Klostermann

We are all familiar with the difficulties of the Old Lady who swallowed a fly, but what happens when a dragon decides to gulp down a knight whole? The first problem comes in when the knight’s horse won’t stop clip-clopping and making a terrible noise. But every solution creates its own new problem.

With building absurdity and hilarious rhymes, this is a rereading winner. How often have you seen a rhyme for “castle”? And if you have, was it guaranteed giggle fodder? Because the humor isn’t left to the story and the fact that, calling back to its source material, everything just gets bigger, the words by themselves are funny.

This is a good one for kids who love silly, ones who love dragons and knights, and ones who love singing along with their storybooks
